Description

Sugars are carbohydrates that are composed of one (monosaccharide) or two (disaccharide) sugar unit. Monosaccharides are absorbed as such and disaccharides are fastly absorbed. The most common monosaccharides are glucose, fructose and galactose, that are precursors of the most common disaccharides: lactose, maltose and sucrose.
