Fibre, total
Description
Non-available carbohydrates are called dietary fibre. Although fibre is not absorbed, it has many functions in the human digestive tract. It increases the feeling of satiety, delays gastric emptying, binds bile acids and so lowers blood cholesterol. Fibre is found in all plant foods especially in cereals as rye bread and whole grains. Fibre in Fineli comprises for example cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, plant gums and pectin (by AOAC method).
