Description
Carbohydrates are characteristic to plant foods. Available (absorbed) carbohydrates are sugars and starch. Mono- and disaccharide are included in sugar. Body receives glucose from available carbohydrates. It produces energy ,17 kJ/g (4kcal/g). Carbohydrates are present in plant foods and in milk as lactose. The available carbohydrates in Fineli are calculated as a sum of glucose, fructose, saccharose, lactose, maltose and starch.
